78' ft Chris Craft 78 Roamer

1978 Chris Craft 78' Roamer Aluminum Motoryacht
"Right of Passage", is most likely the finest example of a classic era design Chris-Craft Roamer Flybridge Motoryacht. Highlighted amenities include four staterooms, four full baths, new galley, dining saloon, large main saloon with a full wet bar and complete new entertainment system, enclosed aft deck with an enormous lazarette underneath. Also, a fully functional flybridge with lounge seating, a 15' Nautica tender, and a lower helm station. A recent major refit brings her up to date insuring her integrity, beauty, and charm. Originally built as a 68' Roamer, an extension of 10' was later added by Rybovich Spencer offering a more spacious upper and aft deck without taking away from her original lines. "Right of Passage" offers perhaps more room, more options, and more versatility than most boats for her size.

Model History
Holland, Michigan's "Roamer Boat Company", known for their production of both steel commercial and pleasure boats, and later aluminum boats was purchased by Chris-Craft in the mid 1950's. With some design changes and a relocated production plant, Roamers became instrumental in yacht building. Yachts up to 73' were produced during their reign which ended in 1979 during the Pompano Plant closure. Many Roamers still exist today partly because of their classic Chris-Craft design that was always and still well received. Also, the Roamers were forerunners of aluminum yacht building and conclusively built to high standards with a comfortable layout. This particular 68' model, later lengthened to 78', was one of the last to leave the plant and still travels the waters as good as it did when new.

Vessel Walk Thru
Entering the boat from either mid-ship sliding wing door you find yourself in the lower helm area. The low helm area is the heart of the navigation and control stations. Aft against the bulkhead is a high bench seat while forward is the helm with all the electronics on either side and above. Moving forward and down a few steps is the Dining Saloon with ample seating and serving area. Continuing forward, the galley with a laundry center to starboard along with a U-Shaped work area sporting all new granite counters and appliances. The galley sole has a hatch that allows entry to the Air Conditioning Room and Engine Room. Forward and down a few more steps is the Crew Quarters or additional Guest Stateroom complemented by a full head facility and and exit out to the foredeck through a hatch. Moving aft from the dining saloon is the hallway to the Guest & Master Staterooms. There are two Guest Staterooms in succession on the port, both with full heads to starboard. While further aft is the Master Stateroom and Head. The Master features a King size berth, his and her dressing tables with closets to each side and a custom Sauna which is located just aft of the Master via a port side hidden door. Back at the lower helm, the Flybridge is accessed by a flight of stairs just aft of the helm. The Flybridge features an upper control station and a large encircled seating area. Moving aft is the Dinghy and Davit Station. Outside of the Lower Helm walking forward is a spacious walkway with handrails leading to the forward deck. A built-in bench seat as well as deck boxes provide enough room for entertainment and offer plenty of storage.
