Model History
The Hatteras 55 Convertible was in production for 10 years from 1980 to 1980. Built as a replacement for the venerable Convertible; the 55 Convertible was very in her own right. There were two interior arrangements; the standard arrangement had the galley down with two staterooms while the optional (and more popular) arrangement was a galley up with three staterooms. "Brown Eyed Girl" is a galley up three stateroom boat.
Vessel Upgrades
In 2000, "Brown Eyed Girl" underwent a major refit. More than $300,000 was spent repowering the boat; installing new running gear; replacing the salon windows; completely remodeling the salon including an all new galley; repainting the boat; and much more. The work was done to a very high standard and while the boat has had very active use since that time (4700 hours), she has been very well maintained by a full time captain.
