A good selling model for Carver, the 27 Montego underwent a couple of name changes following her introduction in 1986, becoming the Carver 530 Montego during 1991-92 and the 300 Montego in 1993, her final year of production. Carver designers packed an impressive amount of living space into this 27-foot hull but an elevated foredeck and high freeboard gave her a rather high profile appearance. The Montego's midcabin floorplan is furnished with a circular dinette/double berth forward, a compact galley, a stand-up dressing area in the entryway to the midcabin and a double entry head compartment. Outside the cockpit is quite spacious with bench seating at the transom and a walk through to the swim platform. A bow pulpit and trim tabs were standard.
