Introduced in 1988 as a replacement for the 28 PC, the Formula 29 PC is basically an enlarged version of her predecessor with additional beam and weight, a little less transom deadrise, and improved styling (note the curved windshield and swept-back radar arch). Inside, the mid-cabin layout is essentially unchanged, although the fabrics and wall coverings are brighter. Indeed, the interior of the 29 PC is very inviting, with good quality cabinetry and hardware throughout. The galley has plenty of counter space, and there’s enough room in the head to take a comfortable shower. Headroom in the main cabin is excellent. To create a more open cabin, curtains are used (rather than doors) for privacy in both staterooms. In the cockpit, the helm seat swivels to face aft, and the back seat slides into a transom recess providing access to the motors. (The deck raises automatically to expose a big engine compartment.) Twin MerCruiser stern drives will cruise at 21 knots and reach 33–34 knots top. This is an especially good-handling boat. Recent price reduction 6/08.
