The Viking 50 gets high grades for quality construction, luxurious accomodations and superior fishability. She is built on a modified V-hull with a 15.5 degree deadrise aft, a wide 16’3” beam and a well-flared bow. The salon (with entertainment center), galley (with under counter refrigeration), and dinette are on the same level making for a very spacious feel and work well together for entertaining or dinning at the dock or underway. There are three staterooms with an amidships master suite with private bath. The side decks are relatively wide for ease of movement around the deck, she has a very large cockpit, a massive well laid out bridge-deck and direct access to the stand-up engine room via stairs from the cockpit. She cruises at 25 knots with 29 knots top end. Whether fishing or cruising the Viking 50 is a very popular model with over 120 built between 1991 and 2001. Accommodations
This yacht offers the classic three stateroom interior arrangement which proved most popular on the 50' convertible.
Starting forward you will find the larger of the two guest cabins featuring two single berths in an over under agreement to starboard each with reading lamps and overhead lighting. To port is a good sized cedar lined hanging locker,cabinet storage and outboard shelves. Ventilation and additional light are provided by a large opening overhead hatch. This cabin has a private access door to the guest head.
Moving aft to port you will find the common access door to the guest head which features a Vacuflush marine head system a stall shower, molded sink, vanity with mirror and storage under.
Just further aft to port you will find the yachts laundry center with stacked washer and dryer.
Opposite to starboard is the entrance door to the teak lined owner's suite which features a full sized queen island berth, cedar lined hanging lockers, storage cabinets & shelves, full length mirror abundant lighting and a custom entertainment center with 20" flat screen TV and Bose Stereo System. This owner's stateroom features an en suite head with a Vacuflush marine head system, lighted stall shower, sink and vanity with storage under and mirror.
Continuing further aft you will find the second guest cabin which features twin over under berths to port with reading lamps, overhead lights and a cedar lined hanging locker.
As you move aft up three steps you enter the main level with the open island style galley to port featuring Corian counter tops, two burner cook top, molded in sink with instant hot water system, full size stand-up refrigerator freezer, convection/microwave oven, garbage disposal,teak parquet inlaid floors and many storage cabinets and drawers.
Opposite of the galley to port is the L-shaped dinette with custom hi-gloss dinning table. Behind the dinette on the main bulk head you will find a built-in 42" plasma TV.
The TV is easily view from the main salons large L-shaped settee which is furthest aft along the port side main bulkhead and also feature a custom hi-gloss coffee table. Oposite to starboard just forward of the main entrnace you will fin the bar and entertainment center featuring a Sony and Bose Stereo System.
This open/great room/ salon/dinette/galley makes for great entertaining.
The main companionway door is to starboard and through it you enter a very large cockpit great for fishing or entertaining with a walk through transom gate, aft bulkhead tackle center, bait prep station, sink and freezer.
You will find direct access from the cockpit to the very well laid-out engine room via a wide companionway.
On the starboard side of the cockpit you will find the stairway to the massive bridge-deck with seating for eight and good visibility both forward and aft.
