Slow cruise at 1750 rpm and reach 23.3 knots or 26.9 mph burning 32.0 gph with a range of 394 nm or 453 sm.
Normal cruise at 2000 rpm and reach 27.9 knots or 32.1 mph burning 46.0 gph with a range of 329 nm or 376 sm.
Wide open throttle at 2340 rpm and reach 32.6 knots or 37.5 mph burning 61.5 gph with a range of 286 nm or 329 sm.
NOTE: Range is based on 90 % of the advertised fuel capacity of 600 gallons.
Powerboat Guide had this to say Introduced in 1998, the Searay 540 Sundancer is a mega-volume sportcruiser whose muscular good looks and luxurious accommodations can still turn heads. This boat offers a seemingly endless list of high tech features and her extravagant interior is a study in comfort, beginning with the huge Ultraleather settee that converts electrically into a slide out bed. The Sundancer carries most of her beam forward which creates plenty of living space below. The master stateroom is amidships and has a queen bed as well as a private head compartment. Forward, the guest stateroom has a full-size berth and space for a washer/dryer combo. The galley is open to the salon and storage cabinets are abundant throughout the boat, all finished in high-gloss cherry woodwork. In the cockpit, two immense L-shaped settees, which can accommodate a small crowd, convert at the push of a button into a massive sun pad. Additional features include a foredeck sun pad, a superb helm console, and a hydraulic hi-low swim platform to facilitate the launch of a tender. Twin 640hp Cat diesels will cruise in the mid 20s (30+ knots top), and 745hp 8V92s will cruise in the high 20s and reach a top speed of 32-33 knots.
