She performs beautifully and is very easy to sail with her stack-pack sail bag and lazy jacks and electric winches. This boat is fast and graceful. Test sail her in San Diego!
Accommodations
The combination of the 2-cabin option and the Tall performance rig on this 2008 Beneteau 49 give you the best of accommodations and a nice tweak in performance. When we order her, we asked ourselves...."how would we want the 49 if she were ours"... This boat will warm your soul and excite your life as she reaches for her hull speed of almost 10 knots. The classic full battened mainsail and the lazy bag, along with the electric winches, make for very easy sail raising and lowering. You just drop the main halyard and the sail glides down into the lazy bag and you zip it up......easy! For a dramatic interior, the Beneteau R&D office worked closely with the famous Italian designers, Nauta Yachts (best known for their signature interiors of mega yachts) to create a light, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Superbly clean lines combined with the functional demands of great yachts are the results of the expertise of these talents from Milan. >From the smallest details, such as the texture of fabrics to the shape of lighting, the cohesive whole of Nauta’s touch is exceptional. The dynamic and plush interior style utilizes cabinetry in Moabi hard wood, stainless steel and off-white surfaces to truly bring the Beneteau 49 to a new level of interior luxury.
